An opacity slider is available for each adjustment, but you can also adjust the opacity of the entire stack. If you find a combination of layers that you like, you can save them as a preset. Each adjustment includes a few presets that preview on the image as you roll your mouse over them. The layers are non-destructive until you output the file. You can stack the programs on each other as layers and drag the layers around in the stack. I reviewed the free version and Pro Pack as a standalone application and looked at it in Photoshop and Lightroom. Fourteen additional adjustments are available in the Pro Pack for $275 that you can download at no cost and preview for 30 days. For most users, this is pretty much all you will need. Ten adjustments and many preset effects are available in the free version. Of the Topaz plug-ins that I own, all but ReMask appeared in the Plug-ins drop-down menu in the menu bar. Topaz Studio functions as a standalone editor, a plug-in within Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, and as a host for any Topaz plug-ins. It is available at for Mac and Windows computers with fairly minimal hardware requirements other than a decent graphics card. Topaz Studio is an amazingly complete image editor and RAW file processor that is actually free, with free updates promised for life. She is a regular webinar presenter for Topaz Labs, and she released her first eBook,“Working with Textures & Overlays: Turn Ho-Hum into a Work of Art”in October 2015.If there is any truth to the adage, “The best things in life are free,” then it certainly applies to Topaz Labs’ new Topaz Studio software. Here are some more edits that were made using the same process in Topaz Studio. This made the brick texture B&W to reduce the effect on the colors of the rose. I chose the brick wall texture to give my rose the illusion of being painted on the wall! After making a few adjustments to the sliders, I clicked on the “+ Enhance” in the lower right of the palette, and chose Black & White. You can choose the Group you want by clicking the drop down next to Group. You will see an asset library that shows all of the textures, backgrounds, borders, light leaks, dust & scratches layers, etc. Next, I added a Texture Adjustment to my image by clicking More icon at the bottom of your Adjustment toolbar (bottom right). This effect is a great starting point to know which Adjustments to use in a complete workflow from start to finish. This allows you to go through each Adjustment and make the necessary tweaks tailored specifically to your image. All Adjustments are set to default values. When you initially apply the Double Exposure preset, you will notice there are no changes made to your image. To apply the Rose Double Exposure preset, simply search for it in the Effect Panel. I have saved an Effect called Rose Double Exposure that works great for Raw files. It allows you to share effects with other Topaz Studio users. Topaz Studio has an awesome feature called the Topaz Community. If you chose to use Topaz Studio as a plugin, it can be found by choosingįilter > Topaz Labs > Topaz Studio in Photoshop.
